Melbourne Food and Wine Festival’s World’s Longest Lunch 2024

The World’s Longest Lunch is an icon of Melbourne Food & Wine Festival. Having been an anchor of the festival for over thirty years, it’s a delight for Andrew to take part in this event.

On March 15, he will be kicking off the festival at Kings Domain by cooking at the World’s Longest Lunch for over 1700 guests.

Every ticket for this year’s lunch, presented by La Trobe Financial, includes a three-course lunch designed by Andrew McConnell, with premium poultry from Aurum, wines by Tahbilk, beers from Brick Lane Brewing, still, sparkling and flavoured waters from Capi and coffee from Melbourne’s own Inglewood Coffee Roasters.

The World's Longest Lunch has been an icon of the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival for over 30 years. From its humble beginnings as tables on the turf of the MCG, this celebrated event has evolved into an incredible dining experience that welcomes over 1700 guests to the King's Domain.

Surrounded by the lush parklands of the Royal Botanic Gardens, guests will share in an al fresco-long lunch of grand proportions. While Cumulus Inc. and the restaurants of Trader House have long been supporters of the Festival by hosting special dinners and guest chefs since the early days, this year marks the first time that Andrew will be cooking at this signature event.

“It’s such pleasure to be part of the World’s Longest Lunch this March - what a wonderful way to open this year’s festival.” - Andrew McConnell

Tickets include three courses highlighting the season’s best, a selection of refreshing beverages served throughout the afternoon and a special gift from Mecca Cosmetica.
