After almost 40 years on St Kilda Beach, Trader House is proud to become the new custodian of Stokehouse — an enduring part of Melbourne’s dining landscape, loved by generations.

As we take the reins, we want to honour what has made Stokehouse so special while bringing our own approach to thoughtful, generous hospitality, delicious food and drink, and a genuine sense of place. With the beach on the doorstep and summer around the corner, it’s a place made for long lunches, sunset drinks and time well spent by the water.

Upstairs, Stokehouse remains Stokehouse, featuring a refreshed dining room and a new menu that respects its history and celebrates its location.

Downstairs will be completely reimagined as Marea Beach House & Bar, a relaxed space opening onto the beach, shaped by good food, music and its St Kilda setting.

We’re now building the team for this next chapter across both venues, with opportunities in all front and back of house positions and for all levels of experience.
